Reinstalling SpeedBase
If for any reason you decide to reinstall SpeedBase, it can be done quickly and without any loss of data.
You can follow the instructions given below to safely uninstall and then reinstall SpeedBase:
- If you want to connect back to your current database after the reinstallation, it is a good idea to take a note of your data folder
and database file name so you can adjust those setting easily. You can find out these information from the Connection Setting window
under "Database" menu.
- Take a note of the version you are currently using. You can find the version by clicking the "Help" menu and then "About".
- Open the Free Trial Page from SpeedBase web site.
The version number consists of three numbers separated by a dot.
If the first two numbers match with the version you have been using, you can download the setup file.
If the versions do not match, you may consider
upgrading to the latest version.
If the versions do not match and you still would like to do a same-version-install, you should locate and use the setup file
of the older version you have been using.
- Before reinstalling, uninstall the currently installed version first. You will be asked whether to remove connection information
and user settings as well.
If you click YES to uninstall permanently, those settings will be lost, meaning that you will need to adjust the connection setting
and reenter your license code after reinstalling. You may consider this option if you are reinstalling because of an unresolved issue.
In either case, your data folder and database will NOT be affected. Most of your user settings are also not affected because they have
been saved to your database.
- Once uninstallation is complete and no restart is required, you can run the setup file to reinstall.
(You may need to extract the setup file first if you have downloaded in ZIP format)
Note that, there are no separate installers for the trial and registered versions or the TeamWork version.
The software will switch from trial to registered mode with the licensed features as soon as you enter your license key
into the software.
- Once the installation is complete, a window will be opened to guide you to either creating a new database or connecting to an
existing database. You can then select your former data folder location and database name.
